WHO ARE YOU? PART 1


Seems more like a Facebook post Question…
When you go visiting a friend’s home and knock on their door on arrival, before opening the door, they will ask “Who are you?” At that moment, you are given an opportunity to IDENTIFY YOURSELF before you are given access into their home. At those times what do you say?
Today the world is asking you dear Christian Teenager, “Who are you?” Do you even know? Do you know what it means to be called a Christian? Do you know what it means to be called “God’s Righteousness”?
Do you know what gives you deep satisfaction? Do you know what tugs at the very core of your heart? Have you ever given thought to the reason why you are called a Christian? Have you ever wondered how being a Christian makes any difference in the world and in your generation or in the lives of your family and friends? Have you ever considered that being a Christian as a Teenager is much more than you know it to be?
Do you give more thought to the daily distractions of this present generation and the approval of your peers than you do of Jesus Christ, his Word and his Spirit? Are you concerned about God’s thoughts? Are his desires your desires? Do you give importance to God’s word as written in the Bible? Does God have your heart? Do you know that what is in your heart determines who you are?
For there are many identities in this world forged by many things that are not of God but there is just one identity that truly matters, an identity forged by God’s word and Spirit. YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST!
The true knowledge of this will change your perspective and decisions from here onward. It will change what you pursue and who you pursue. It will change how you talk, what you say, where you go, who you associate with. It will change WHAT YOU BELIEVE. It will change your heart! The declaration of your identity in Christ will not gain public approval. So, don’t expect the world and social media to cheer and clap for you! (John 18: 18 – 19, 1 John 4:6). Instead, know and believe that your Identity in Christ is God-approved! It was blood bought and heaven endorsed!
The scripture says a lot about who you are. It talks a lot about your identity in Christ. We will find out these identities and more in the next blog!
